More good mackerel were weighed in during Gamex this week along with some good queenfish and trevally. We will give you a full report next week.
With 68 boats in the competition it has been busy out on the water. One boat not fishing the competition had a close call with a hooked marlin jumping out of the water right next to them. They quickly got out of the way and watched from a distance as the other boat tagged the fish.

Anglers not participating in Gamex this week have reported good captures of coral trout, spangled emperor, chinaman and blue bone out toward the islands. Shore based anglers have also reported queenfish, trevally and spangled emperor from the west side with the occasional blue bone.
The marina has seen some good mangrove jacks caught from the walls along with bream, cod, small queenfish and trevally. Whiting have been spotted from the shore on the gulf side and it shouldn't be long before good numbers are around. The bottom of the gulf has been fishing well for anyone chasing sharks right throughout the day.
