| Christmas Island September 2008 |

Bluewater Melville store manager Nick Bailey fished with ex-Bluewater-Scarborough part-timer Mark Rochfort (Rocky) at Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean. The reason Rocky was a part-timer was because he spent all of the middle of the year running Shorefire Charters at the island; but now he does it all year 'round. Things went well for Nick, with a decent sail on the troll one day, followed up by a massive sailfish on a popper the next day. There were also some decent GTs into the mix.
The sail on the popper arced up with about three full laps around the boat, greyhounding all the way.
A good solid sailfish there, taken on a Black Jack Skipjack 90 popper.
This 25kg-ish GT fell to a Black Jack Ulua stickbait.
Last GT for the trip for Nick, Ulua 120 on PE6 braid.

Brendon Dolphin trialling Hots Rods
A bigger GT for Nick; lure was Black Jack Cubera 150 on a custom Calstar GF700H with Saltiga 6000GT and PE8 line.
Rocky has crabs.
Rocky with a smaller GT taken on a Black Jack Ulua and PE6 line; Daiwa Saltiga 80TN rod.
