Employment

Bluewater Tackle World is Australia's largest specialist fishing tackle retailer, with four stores in the Perth metropolitan area and one in Exmouth. We sell fishing tackle, surf equipment, watersports products, marine gear and snorkelling and spearfishing equipment.

We have lots of people working for us who love coming to work every day! If you'd like to be in that kind of job, and you're a passionate angler and lover of the outdoors, we'd like to talk to you.

Although we are proud to be the biggest specialist tackle retailers, we're also small enough to be personal - head office is out the back at the Scarborough store, not in some different time zone with a faceless manager who couldn't care less. We like people to like working with us. If you want flexibility, understanding and a shared enthusiasm, that sounds like us too!

We only employ people who feel the same about their fishing and outdoors as we do. You aren't expected to be an expert on it all, but we are looking for people who are keen to learn.

We have no particular preconceptions around age or gender of applicants. The most important thing is to be passionate about the outdoors. Although we use computer point-of-sale systems and are active on the net, no great computer skills are required; it's all very easy to follow and there are plenty of great people to work with who will enjoy helping you pick it up.

We're open seven days a week, so it's a requirement to be able to work some Saturdays and Sundays (no it’s not every one!), and of course late night Thursdays (usually every second one). We pay above award and overtime, will work with you on a roster that suits you (and your fishing trips), and won’t shaft you with some workplace agreement engineered from the other side of the rabbit-proof fence.

What we want to hear from you is why you'd like to work for Bluewater, and of course the usual work/education history and referees kind of thing. If you've read this far, you're probably ready to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it that, or post to PO Box 91 Scarborough WA 6922. We can't reply to every applicant, but will keep all applicants on record.

The other thing you might want to do is call in to the store you'd like to work at, and have a chat with the manager.  That doesn't count as a job interview, by the way, but with any luck you'll buy something while you're there.

We have a full contingent of staff at most stores at the moment, but sometimes the staff want to move around because they move house or whatever, so there's every chance that wherever you're living in Perth, at some time in the future you would be able to work at a store close to home. All store addresses are at this link.

We'd like to hear from you very soon!

If you'd just like to be considered for a position at some time in the future, you may want to just let us know via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . With a few dozen staff around here, things never stay the same forever.
